International Renown.

While the Penn Glee Club took an annual tour to the southern United States as late as 1940, the current iteration of the Penn Glee Club Tour came to be in 1959. That year, the Glee Club was the surprise entertainment for the University’s General Alumni Society’s week-long convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was the Club’s first tour outside of the contiguous United States.

Since 1959, the Penn Glee Club has made an international name for itself by touring in over 40 countries and territories across five continents. The Club generally alternates between domestic and international tours, though it always maintains its role as the unofficial musical ambassador of the University.

The Club’s most recent tour took place in May 2024, taking 38 members through Milan, Naples, and Rome!
